Leaving on a Jet Plane

Tomorrow morning, some fabulous ladies and I will be boarding the crown jewel of Ethiopian Air’s fleet (the fancy new 787 Dreamliner)!

We will be heading to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a week of shopping

sightseeing

eating lots of Indian, Italian and (my favorite!) Ethiopian food

drinking the best coffee in the world

AND spending time with these great organizations and sustainable ministries:

All Africa Leprosy, Tuberculosis and Rehabilitation Training Centre a/k/a ALERT Hospital)

Bring Love In

Embracing Hope

FashionABLE

No Ordinary Love

I'm excited to see first-hand how God is using these organizations to do His work in Addis Ababa. They are doing incredible things in a place where there is incredible need. They are making a difference. A big reason I am making this trip is to learn more about what they do and share it with you. Stay tuned. . .

I’ll also be visiting some of D’s and my precious Ethiopian friends and dropping by Hannah’s Hope to visit K’s special mothers. Soooooo excited!

I’m off to D.C. tonight to meet up with the other chicks and kick off this ultimate girls’ trip!

Remember how much I planned and prepared before leaving D and the girls when I went to Zambia? Well, this time around, D told me he’s got it and I‘m just taking his word for hit. He’s a brave man to take on solo daddy-ing three little girls while school is in session. And if he’s nervous, it’s not showing! Hair, homework, agendas, field trips, uniforms, dry cleaning, groceries, lessons, lunch boxes, bathtime, bedtime, breakfasts, dinners. . . whew. . . it’s a challenge to keep up when we’re both here! I’ve mentioned them all and he’s as cool as a cucumber about it. Actually, just to ruffle my feathers, he came back at me with tangles, cavities, body odor, fast food, junk food, all-nighters, tardies, truancy. Really, what’s 9 days in the grand scheme of life? He’s an awesome dad. They will survive. He’s going to do great and they’re going to make some memories! Bless him! I’m blessed to have him!

My heart has been heavy of late. I am weary and in need of refreshment. A glimpse of His glory. A peek at His kingdom. I know I'll find that in Addis. I am ready to go!
