Birthday Boy, Auguste Update and K Singing "I'm Alive!"

Today is our big boy M’s birthday. I wonder if they did anything for him on this special day—HIS day. He turned three years old. Oh, my heart! I hope this is the only birthday he has to spend in an orphanage. I’m praying that next year we’ll be inviting all our friends and family over to celebrate with cake, balloons and presents—a real birthday party at HOME! I received a surprise today, though, and it has to do with the boys. Our agency approved our proposed trip to Haiti next month. Can hardly wait to meet them!

Please remember little Auggie in prayer this week. He continues to fight and Lisa and Mickey continue to advocate for his life. They are traveling to Charlotte and then on to Philadelphia to consult with some of the most experienced doctors in the area of non immune hydrops research and treatment. We are praying for wisdom and discernment in the decisions they will be making as we continue to petition the Great Physician for a miracle. You can follow his story on Lisa’s blog, The Extraordinary Ordinary

To close this little update and bring a smile to your face, here’s a video of K singing along to her current favorite song—Peter Furler’s I’m Alive—on the radio before preschool. The hand raise, I’m pretty sure she got from me. But the shoulder moves are all her own. What a joy she is!

I’ve neglected to journal about so much that’s happened this year. And it looks like the next few weeks/months are going to be full of more fun events, adventures and some big changes. Going to try to write more frequently—these are days I’ll want to remember!
