Easter: Gifts, Miracles, Life (and Matching Dresses)

Easter 2013 was a celebration of gifts, miracles and life.

The gift of life.
The gift of salvation.
The gifts of children and family.

The miracle of the resurrection.
The miracle of reconciliation.
The miracle of Auguste.

Our Savior who lives!
Our new lives as followers of Jesus!
Our new baby boy whose life is evidence that God still works miracles!

Missing Bo (who's in Chicago pursuing improv dreams!)
Lots of our extended family gathered to attend the Easter morning service at a little church in Winter Haven pastored by my Uncle Joel and Aunt Martha. Aunt Martha and a group of prayer warrior women from that church were so faithful in praying for my sister and baby Auggie, which made it especially special that Auggie was dedicated at the beginning of the service. Lisa shared Auggie’s story.

Uncle David acknowledged God’s sovereignty over our family and the miraculous gift we've been given in Auggie. He charged Lisa and Mickey to lead their children spiritually. We prayed they will make wise and Godly decisions in their parenting and that Auggie will grow to be a man of God and see God’s perfect will fulfilled in his life.

After the song service and dedication, the children were invited to a special Easter lesson and egg hunt. The grown-ups stayed in the sanctuary where Uncle Joel brought the message.

The afternoon was spent taking pictures of ourselves in our new Easter clothes and enjoying a big family dinner at the local Red Lobster. It was a lovely day.

The girls and I again wore matching "Lilly" Easter dresses, a little tradition I started last year and hope to observe for many years to come.

Missing our boys (but leaving the next night for Haiti!)

I loved the detailing on the back of my dress!
I just remembered I was on a blogging hiatus last spring and didn’t post Easter pictures. Here are a few from last year. Look how my girls have grown! Maybe next year we’ll do coordinating bow ties for the boys?

We are blessed!
