Saturday afternoon, we spent a couple hours browsing the artist booths at Mayfaire by the Lake. It’s been a few years since we’ve attended this art show and community event. We had such a nice time, I can’t remember why we’ve ever missed it. We enjoyed strolling around Lake Morton, looking at all of the beautiful and interesting artwork, eating yummy “fair food”, listening to street musicians and local glee clubs, people watching, visiting with friends and feeding the swans and ducks.

Thinking of our boys! |
For years, I’ve wanted a piece of Ruby Williams' art. She’s a local African-American folk artist whose work has been collected and displayed all over the world, including the Smithsonian. I was so excited to see her booth and have the opportunity to meet her. D agreed to splurge and purchase one of her paintings—“Luckly Fo U I Know How to Smile.” I love it! Ms. Ruby graciously posed for some pictures with us.
She was as sweet and sassy and colorful as her artwork. What a treasure!
