More From Miss K's Birthday Vacay!

It’s only 40 minutes from our house to Disney World. Because we have passes that enable us to go year-round, trips to Disney are probably more relaxing for our family than the average tourists since we're not under pressure to cram everything into a limited time. We know we’ll be back (Lord willing!), so we move at a leisurely pace and savor the fairytales and magic that are still so real in our girls’ eyes. We try to be mindful of the fact that for most of the other people in the parks, a Florida vacation and visit to the Disney parks are a once-in-a-lifetime dream trip. We try not to take it for granted that we are blessed to live in such a marvelous place. K’s birthday was a great excuse to get away as a family for a weekend and really celebrate!

Even though we go to Disney often, it's still a big treat when we splurge and stay over at one of the resorts for a night or two. I try to keep an eye out for the Florida resident specials and jump on 'em a couple of times a year. It really is like a mini-vacation.

After our day at Hollywood Studios with Woody and Buzz, we checked into the Contemporary Resort. When we opened the door to our room, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that someone at the hotel had sprinkled some pixie dust and upgraded us to a huge suite! Of course, we proceeded to pose for pictures on every piece of furniture to make sure it was all well documented. Here are a couple of cute ones:
The big girls claiming their own sinks in the bathroom (which not only included a tub but also had a separate room with a shower--fancy schmancy!):
We went for an evening swim in the pool: Then it was back to the room for baths and a movie!
What did we watch? Beverly Hills Chihuahua--one of our favorites! And the reason our girls love dressing our poodle (who, incidentally, is also named Chloe) in dog clothes!
And you can’t take the B girls to a hotel without ordering room service. It’s a tradition they’ve come to expect. And much more relaxing than dressing for dinner!
There was a floating electrical parade scheduled for 10 p.m. on the lake behind the resort. Miss A thought walking down to the dock to see it was a splendid idea. Miss M said she'd rather hang out with Daddy and keep watch over a sleeping Miss K. Quality time is Miss A's love language, so I jump on any opportunity to give her a bit of extra attention and fill her little love tank! We designated our outing a mommy-daughter date and took time to stroll along the beach, explore the resort a bit and have some one-on-one time together before tiptoeing back to the room and tucking ourselves into bed. Precious moments!

The next morning, the big girls and Daddy took another swim in the pool before our character breakfast at Chef Mickey's.

Here's Miss K's new stranger avoidance technique I mentioned in my prior post in action. Sorry, Mickey, Miss K is asleep (wink!):
Shhhh! Pluto, Baby is sleeping! As we ate breakfast, K studied the characters as they moved about the restaurant, and toward the end of the meal decided she was brave enough to say hi and smile for the camera as long as Daddy was holding her tight. After breakfast, we hopped on the monorail (which runs right through the hotel--so neat and convenient!) and were off for a day at the Magic Kingdom! Another fun family day in honor of Miss K!

And Miss K wasn't the only one in the B Family who celebrated a birthday in the past few weeks. Come back soon for pictures from Miss A's Buckaroo Birthday Bash!
