One year ago today, a five month old baby girl was transfered from a government-run orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to Hannah's Hope, an orphanage and transitional home run by our agency. AGCI would match her with a family and Hannah's Hope would care for her until the courts finalized the adoption and that family could pick her up. We were giddy with anticipation, knowing that a referral was imminent and we'd be receiving "the call" any day. Sweet K was having her whole little world turned upside down. . . again. It would be a couple more weeks before a match would be made and we would gaze into these big brown eyes for the first time. With God orchestrating from the heavens, the paths of a precious baby girl and a family already in love with her were about to come together.

  5. Sweet K, This is your daddy. Your beautiful little face and gorgeous eyes don't show the pain you must have felt or the uncertainty of what was happening. I was so happy and excited to see your little picture for the first time. While we were overcome with joy, you were coping with an enormous loss. You are the most precious thing to us. I love you more than you will ever know. Love, Daddy
